Apartments in Edinburgh bucking the trend

August 11th, 2009 · Uncategorized

Would you believe it, box office ticket sales are up – record numbers of European visitors are flooding into Edinburgh – all of our apartments are booked solid for the month of august – The Edinburgh Festival is underway and going strong. As a mighty beast would shrug off the attack from a young child armed with a fisher price bow and arrow – the edinburgh festival is storming ahead as if in total ignorance of the credit crunch and certainly not appearing effected by it in any way. The Edinburgh Festival has had its problems over the years but with a worldwide reputation for fantastic variety in entertainment comedy and culture and a revamped Edinburgh Military tattoo any previous glitches appear to have been ironed out. As has been true for our company Edinburgh Festival Apartments if anything 2009 has been a watershed year and both Edinburgh Apartments and the Edinburgh Festival are displaying all the signs of being well and truely established – in business as in event management things take time – branding , public awareness customer satisfaction. I belive that the Edinburgh Festival was quite famous and had been visited by large groups of people – in the same way as Edinburgh itself had. However it is now one of the number one worldwide destinations for tourist. Once upon a time Edinburgh was a slave to American tourism – the Yankie visitors certainly made up the numbers but when the drop off came after 911 there was an air of panic – what now. Well it appears that this year particularly the Europeans have invaded on the back of a weakened pound – not such good news for those of us earning them but certainly provides a big economic benefit to foreign visitors. The Edinburgh apartments have now hit a purple patch because Europeans know how to self cater and the concept of apartments is a tried and tested accommodation type on the continent. We are full – the festival is busy so hey lets make hay while it rains constanly and rejoice even if the only ray of sunshine is a broken currency. Oh well.

More landlord signups as new owners load up edinburgh apartments

August 1st, 2009 · Uncategorized

The reasons are plentiful as to why it is important for a holiday apartments owner in edinburgh to have as much internet exposure as possible. The more sites promoting an apartment the more potential customers can be reached. There is however one particular area which needs addressed in this area and that is that the majoirty of landlords / holiday apartment owners are not willing to embrace the online booking aspect of the ecommerse world. The typical approach is to enter the same property details across any number of web portals advertising holiday property – the entries usually consist of a number of photographs of the apartment accommpanied by a text description and a fascilities list. The majority then input contact details usually an email address and a telephone number. This is the basic method of attracting what was back in the day a lead – generating leads which will allow a sales call or email communication which would somtimes result in a booking. But what happens if a member of the browsing public want to book the apartment on the website there and then – as you would a flight – a hotel room – a hire car. To suggest a distinct drawback in the holiday apartment industry in this area cannot be understated. Now , imagine you are a landlord – being an enthusiastic property owner you have taken some fabulous photographs of you beautifully kept and presented apartment – you have then scripted a detailed description offering indepth information on apartment loaction facilities and benefits of the apartment accommodation. having done this you then enter this information and have it displayed on the worldwide web through your own web site and a large number of agency portals similar to festival apartments and holiday lettings sites. Ok so far, if you are confident that you have included accurate and detailed information and correctly input the geographical location and taken enough photographs to adequatley display ever feature a viewer may wish to see , why then would a customer want to speak to you directly or drop you an email to be responded to at a later date. Would their desire not then be to book the dates they required in your wonderful apartment there and then. I would argue that online transactions have come full circle from the insecure days of the early internet when security was lax. With the majority of internet users having purchased books – flights – computers – rent a cars and even cars themselves then credit card trasactions over the internet are now a trusted method of payment in any industry.
Why then negate the majority of the benefits of a worldwide 24/7 365 web audience and have a contact only web entry for your wonderful apartment. We at edinburgh festival apartments have had a secure online booking facility attached to our website for a number of years now. It is easy to fill in your availability in our landlord sectionand recieve bookings day and night all year round. In taking advantage of this system and monitoring it religiously – even with the close attention to the calender ensuring double bookings do not occur the process is ironically labour saving. No more missed phone calls or waiting for email responses from potential guest who may have already booked automatically online somewhere else – so strike while the iron is hot and jump ahead of your competitors and give the customers what they want – an apartment for certain dates at a price set by yourself – which is what landlords seem to want anyway. Edinburgh Festival Apartments – its that time again

July 28th, 2009 · Uncategorized

August is fast approaching – on your marks , get set….festival time – love it or hate it the city of edinburgh plays host to a massive influx of both performers and spectators as the largest arts festival in the world makes its annual appearence in the Scottish capital. The visitor numbers are on a par with the total attendence figures of the fifa world cup – its massive – absolutely huge. The locals occassionally voice irritation at the invasion of their city but none would argue the commercial and artistic benefits the festival itself brings to the town. Especially in the current finnancial climate the city of edinburgh post rbs disater et all can do with all the help it can get. The council seem consistently intent on disrupting the transport system of the city – closing roads everywhere in anticipation of a wonderful tram system sometime within the next ten years to compliment an already fantastic and adequate public transport system. The visitors however they are being discouraged from attending appear to be defying both economical downturn and the edinburgh council and intend to attend regardless. We are happy to report a huge demand for edinburgh apartments for the festival period and beyond with a growth in our sector year on year as people show a preference for the economical and practical nature of private apartment rental in edinburgh. The average cost for a stay in edinburgh durring the festival in my opinion has almost halved in the last 5 years. Accommodation was at a premium and supply was restricted – these days the floundering of the buy to let market and the growth in private self catering landlords punting their apartments to tourists has opened the market right up. So select from over 1000 apartments at prices lower than they have ever been and book your perfect edinburgh apartment with edinburgh festival apartments.
