Our edinburgh apartments in the city centre have always been the most popular. There has been a move to build luxury modern apartments down on the waterfront ie the shore at leith and at the marina at Granton. These apartments in edinburgh were appealing at first as a novelty to new visitors to edinburgh, however since they are a good 15- 20 minutes on a bus or by car from the central attractions such as the edinburgh castle – princes street and so on, they have recently been failing to attract a high level of custom from the edinburgh self catering market. The edinburgh apartments on the waterfront do have a number of advantages. The first being that each new apartment property has guarenteed lift access to apartments beyond the first floor. Many of the traditional apartments in Edinburgh are part of traditional Georgian tenements which have beautiful stairwells but no relief from the upward hike. The waterfront apartments do offer private allocated parking off street which again is a luxury not present with the majority of edinburgh city centre apartments. So in conclusion the waterfront does offer a number of appealing alternatives to city centre living but bear in mind that transport is required if you want to go anywhere at all. For business apartment stays they are ideal as parking is a real bonus but for the tourist and sightseeing visitors to Edinburgh the problem appears to be Location Location Location.
